At Narrative Arts, we believe that storytelling is more than just documentation—it’s a way of preserving traditions, amplifying voices, and strengthening communities. Our work in film and media centers on the people and places of coastal North Carolina, and beyond, bringing to life the stories that define our region.
From in-depth documentaries to short-form storytelling, we partner with communities and nonprofits to create media that reflects lived experiences. We collaborate with other filmmakers, historians, and local voices to document traditions, struggles, and triumphs, ensuring that the rich culture of our coastal region is preserved and shared.
Screenings, productions, and workshops take place across coastal North Carolina—in community centers, festivals, and public spaces.
Film as a Tool for Change
Our approach to storytelling is rooted in collaboration. We work alongside local residents to capture the histories and perspectives that often go unheard, using media as a platform for dialogue and action.
Documentary Films
We produce original films that explore social issues, environmental changes, and cultural heritage through the voices of those who live them.
Community Storytelling
We train and support local storytellers in sharing their experiences through film, audio, and digital media. Our workshops and partnerships help individuals and organizations develop the skills to tell their own stories.
Partnerships with Nonprofits
We work with mission-driven organizations to create media that strengthens their work—whether it’s an advocacy campaign, a historical documentary, or a multimedia project that engages the public.
