STORYCORPS’ “GREAT LISTEN”: This Thanksgiving, StoryCorps is sponsoring “The Great Listen,” a national effort to get students nationwide to use the StoryCorps mobile app to record the stories of their grandparents and other relatives, and upload those stories to the Library of Congress archives. GIVING TUESDAY STORY CONTEST: Giving Tuesday, the group behind the national day for charitable donations, is inviting people to submit stories on a time they’ve supported a nonprofit in a way that was meaningful to them. Winners get up to $5,000 for the nonprofit they write about, and a GlobalGiving gift certificate for themselves. Essays due by November 24, and Giving Tuesday is December 1st.
